The Account Manager – Level 1 (AM1)’s primary responsibility is to account manage retail and upstream partners in order to achieve defined energy savings goals.  Educates retailers and other assigned business partners on the benefits of partnering with the DC SEU and promoting both eligible products and programs to their customers. Utilizes a consultative customer engagement methodology that enables them to glean vital market information and present our services in a way that brings value to these partners and their customers.  Under the guidance of the Director, Account Management and other AMs, the AM1 works directly with small and mid-sized businesses to build business relationships that result in the discovery of efficiency opportunities and completion of projects.  Coordinates and participates in related partner and community outreach events, as assigned.

A Portfolio Manager provides the strategic, tactical and operational leadership for DCSEU programs and initiatives to ensure that program implementation is aligned with and meets organizational strategic objectives.  This role serves as a key stakeholder during the design and launch of new programs and/or portfolio of programs.  The Portfolio Manager is responsible for ongoing program success through staff resource and budget direction, monitoring and adjusting processes, and continuous system improvement while providing excellent customer support for both external and internal customers.    The Portfolio Manager will provide an essential leadership role within DCSEU and VEIC by ensuring the success of the most challenging programs and initiatives, developing and teaching best known practices, coaching and mentoring peers, and helping to drive key success indicators.   This ideal candidate will be a Washington, D.C. resident.

The position skills required are ability to keep track of a portfolio of program activities and subcontract awardees.  Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage a diverse set of administrative and program tracking tasks will be required.  Knowledge of the technical, market and policy aspects of solar in the District is an advantage, but not required.  Similarly, familiarity with solar market actors and personnel in the District is an advantage but not required.  Training on the life-cycle process for solar development projects, and the related steps for program tracking and milestone reporting will be part of the initial work orientation.

The Metering Specialist is an integral part of the Evaluation, Measurement, & Verification (EM&V), in which they provide the necessary risk mitigation and quality assurance protocols to achieve contractual energy efficiency goals and decarbonization projects at VEIC. The EM&V Department is within the Data and Technical Services/Information Technology (DATSIT) group and provides technical support to VEIC’s engineering and program implementation staff. This role proactively manages the obligations of VEIC Energy Efficiency Utilities (EEU) for the metering and verification of program energy savings, load shifting, and demand reduction of commercial and industrial customers. Support the Measurement & Verification (M&V) planning and review for VEIC Energy Efficiency Utilities. Manages VEIC-owned metering equipment, which includes tracking, procurement, deployment, inventory, and budget management. This 6-year program is aimed at identifying, evaluating, and testing new electric technologies that help advance California’s energy efficiency and decarbonization goals. The program encompasses electric energy efficiency technologies, as well as demand flexibility and non-energy decarbonization (e.g., refrigerants), across all markets (residential, commercial, industrial, low-income). It addresses the following technology categories: HVAC, water heating, whole building, process loads, plug loads and appliances, and lighting.     VEIC administers three large-scale energy efficiency and decarbonization programs and provides full-service consulting and engineering services. VEIC is nationally recognized for originating pilots and programs that optimize energy use, reduce energy burdens for low-income customers, and advance emerging technologies and innovative program models. The Public Relations Manager oversees the effective management of VEIC and the DC Sustainable Energy Utility’s (DCSEU) public relations planning and implementation in order to meet strategic and operational business goals. They serve as the national public relations lead for VEIC, will support DCSEU PR efforts, and will provide PR support on behalf of our clean energy clients when necessary. Key responsibilities include planning, budgeting, and execution of initiatives across all earned media channels, including national, statewide, and local press, and owned content, including social media, blogs, and other channels.
