Overview

Applies project management, facilitation, and organizational skills to support the successful execution of consulting and engineering projects delivering energy solutions to clients across the country. Project work focuses on decarbonization, through energy efficiency and building and transportation electrification. This position will also support internal initiatives of strategic importance to VEIC.

 

Location:

This is a remote position, and the ideal candidate will be located in the following states: VT, MA, NY, DE, MD, VA, DC. Please note that while we welcome applicants from many areas, we do not currently hire in the following parts of New York: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. Compensation:

At VEIC, we are committed to pay transparency. The starting pay range for this position will be between $75,000-85,000 annually. Based on market data, pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location. Please discuss your intended work location with the recruiter for more information. The total compensation package for this position also includes a full range of medical benefits, 403(b) eligibility with match, Combined Time Off (CTO), Care and Concern leave, Parental leave, wellbeing benefit, a community service day, and eight paid holidays that are effective as of your first day of employment.

Responsibilities

 

  • Works in close coordination with Manager, project management Office and project management team members to contribute to critical initiatives to continuously improve project management practices, providing value to Consulting project teams, clients, and associated stakeholders.
  • Maintains and works within a highly effective project management framework.
  • Leads the management of medium and some large Energy Services projects, with responsibilities including:
    • Establishing and maintaining project communication and tracking systems, including workplan management.
    • Managing day-to-day project decision making and flagging potential concerns or deviations from project workplan.
    • Performing internal operations tasks, such as budget management and project financial forecasting.
    • Serving as a key contact with internal colleagues and external clients as appropriate.
  • Supports project leadership by understanding project objectives, defining key deliverables, guiding workplan development including defining roles on projects, and supporting delegation and managing work of project teams.
  • Successfully balances scope, timelines, dependencies, budgets, and overall execution of multiple external client projects.
  • Leverages organization navigation skills to provide internal coordination across VEIC’s shared services, keeping internal stakeholders informed of project progress and meeting operational needs for projects.
  • Applies project management and change management best practices and standards to all projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
  • Undergraduate degree or a similar combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills were acquired.
  • At least four years of experience managing and coordinating programs or projects, including leading project teams or a combination of experience from which comparable skills were acquired.
  • Experience with energy efficiency, transportation and/or building electrification programs or policies is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • General knowledge of standard office computer applications, including word processing.
  • Proficiency using project management tools preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to appropriately manage conflict.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and able to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with technical and non-technical managers and staff in a team effort.
