This role plays a critical role in VEIC’s growth by identifying and hiring critical resources to meet contractual performance targets across the country. The Contractor Staffing Specialist will understand VEIC’s hiring needs in the context of broader market trends in the growing field of clean energy to fill immediate vacancies while also positioning the businesses for long-term success in a changing market. Ideal candidates will enjoy engaging work within a non-profit, forward-thinking energy consulting business.

Responsibilities

The Staffing Contract Specialist will partner with the People and Culture team as well as the Business Development team, staying close to the bid and proposal process to know what short- and long-term talent will be needed for business success. Most of the hiring this position will do will be focused on contracted employees however may support other direct hiring recruitment efforts as well.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports the full recruitment cycle of sourcing, reviewing qualifications, and partnering with key stakeholders to determine and select contract employees for the roles needed.
  • Develops and maintains critical relationships with individuals, partners, and contracting firms regionally and nationally.
  • Actively involved in industry associations and forums to build relationships with potential talent further.
  • Sources candidates through a variety of means and multiple channels, including industry networks, job boards, colleges, federal contractors, etc.
  • Partners with legal team as needed to implement contracts with individuals and/or firms supplying contract talent for assignments.
  • Works cross-functionally to communicate and maintain compliance requirements to meet contractual specifications.
  • Establishes and maintains networks and external stakeholder relationships with potential contract partners across the country in alignment with VEIC’s resourcing strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals, and values of VEIC.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 + years experience in high-volume staffing for a wide range of positions.
  • Proven experience working with contractor requirements, compliance, reporting, and working in the federal contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with high-volume recruitment in a professional services environment, specifically to fulfill performance-based contracts.
  • Strong attention to detail, project management, organization, and communication skills needed.
  • In-depth knowledge of recruitment best practices, sourcing techniques, and interview methods.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking system (ATS) and other recruitment tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with hiring managers and candidates at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple recruitment projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Internal - Office work is normally performed in either a home office or in VEIC’s climate-controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes, and gases is very limited. The noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in the normal performance of office job duties. Depending on the territory assignment, a remote work arrangement may be required or optional.

External - Less than 10% travel required.

The company will provide adaptive devices as needed.
