In addition to our full-service consulting business, VEIC administers three large-scale sustainable energy programs: Efficiency Vermont, Efficiency Smart, and the DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU). 

 

This role will help our team to maximize the strength of relationships between existing and future commercial and institutional customers to expand DCSEU energy efficiency services. This is a great opportunity to learn how to grow a market using creativity and innovation with a commitment to the environment. Key deliverables will include market and policy research, special events, customer success stories, and data analysis. The DCSEU supports Washington, DC’s bold, visionary, and comprehensive energy plan for clean and affordable energy for all.

Responsibilities

  • Identify key trends in our various markets regarding the role of energy efficiency in carbon emissions reductions.
  • Determine key barriers and drivers for adaptation of efficient technologies in DC.
  • For all topics, make actionable recommendations to DCSEU on the way forward for increasing adaptation of efficient technologies.
  • Support Account Managers with improving the quality of customer profile data to track and report on key performance indicators.
  • Research energy and environmental policies and regulations as requested.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals, and values of DCSEU.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, critical-thinking/problem-solving, and teamwork.
  • Pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, science/engineering, or other fields related to energy and environmental sustainability desired.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software on PC platform.
  • DC residents are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Internal - Work is normally performed in climate-controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.

External - No travel is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Most duties are performed from a seated position. There is potential for eyestrain from reading detailed materials and computer screen. Deadlines, workloads during peak periods and changing priorities may cause increased stress levels. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing of approximately 40 pounds such as files, documents, and computer equipment and materials though is not required should this not be possible for any reason. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboards at a moderate skill level. Repetitive motion injuries may occur. Company will provide adaptive devices as needed.
