In addition to our full-service consulting business, VEIC administers three large-scale sustainable energy programs: Efficiency Vermont, Efficiency Smart, and the DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU). 

 

This Program Management Intern position supports the DCSEU in execution of various tasks related to fostering energy efficiency programs in the District. The role will conduct outreach, provide administrative support, and research current industry market trends in support of the Program Management Office team.

Responsibilities

  • Communication support:
    • Conduct outreach to local stores in the district to promote DCSEU efficient products program.
    • Communicate with industry stakeholders and continue to grow our reach into the community and beyond about our program and the DCSEU
  • Administrative support
    • Provide administrative support to the program management team, including, data entry, preparing agendas for meetings, taking notes, and conducting customer follow up.
    • Work with team to track progress with meeting specified program goals, including utilizing proprietary CRM database to track and manage projects and programs, and review documentation for accuracy and compliance
  • PMO Support
    • Work with various DCSEU and VEIC staff that work on programs and projects, as needed
    • Gather and organize data related to trends in the solar sector by technology, geography, and policy
    • Attend hearings, meetings, other legislative activities, and scientific and policy briefings and sharing observations with DCSEU team verbally or in writing
  • Provides support to the activities of DCSEU/VEIC as necessary to accomplish organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
  • Strong communication skills: ability to convey complex information in accessible and relatable language.
  • Ability to carry out systematic data tracking and reporting processes and implement planned steps from start to finish.
  • Demonstrated experience generating reports with spreadsheet and/ or database programs such as Excel and Access.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including effectiveness in productive communications along with a high degree of professionalism, maturity and a polished demeanor.
  • Prioritization skills: ability to balance and compare competing priorities and accurately collect data to help assess the best path(s) forward.
  • Project Management Skills: ability to work independently in a self-motivated and self-confident manner, incubating a project from an idea to a final deliverable.
  • Interest in, if not familiarity with, Energy Justice and how it can apply to emerging technologies and services.
  • Enthusiastic and optimistic approach to problem-solving; Inspired by challenges.

Working Conditions:

Internal - Work is normally performed in climate-controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.).  No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.

 

External - No travel is required.
