Overview

We are looking for an HR Intern to perform various administrative tasks and to support our HR department’s daily activities. HR Intern responsibilities may include, but not limited to: updating employee job descriptions, screening resumes and scheduling interviews and special HR projects.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling interviews with candidates.
  • Post, update and remove job ads from job boards, careers pages and social networks in partnership with HR Business Partners and team.
  • Assist Talent Acquisition Partner in reviewing candidate resumes, cover letters and applications for current job openings.
  • Participate in the scheduling of new hires and their orientation.
  • Coordinate new hire paperwork, ensuring timely submission.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to employees; assist employees with routine questions as needed.
  • HR projects, such as:
    • Digitizing employee files
    • Creating and updating content on VEIC’s Career page to enhance the candidate experience
    • Updating all job descriptions to include the latest branding and appropriate template
    • Assist with the digital filing of employee reviews
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of HRIS and Applicant Tracking System preferred
  • Basic knowledge of employment law is preferred
  • Previous work experience in a professional office setting
  • Must be currently enrolled in college, seeking an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a similar field
  • Excellent time-management, and problem-solving skills
