VEIC is a sustainable energy company on a mission to generate the energy solutions the world needs. For more than 30 years, VEIC has worked with governments, utilities, foundations, and businesses across North America to design and deploy clean-energy services spanning energy efficiency, building decarbonization, transportation electrification, and a clean and flexible grid. VEIC administers three large-scale energy efficiency and decarbonization programs and provides full-service consulting and engineering services. VEIC is nationally recognized for originating pilots and programs that optimize energy use, reduce energy burdens for low-income customers, and advance emerging technologies and innovative program models.


This position applies project management, facilitation, and organizational skills to support the successful implementation of initiatives of strategic importance to Energy Services. This role enjoys engaging work within a non-profit, forward-thinking, energy consulting business and is available to work completely remotely (within certain locations - based on business needs) or hybrid with VEIC having physical offices in Winooski, Vermont, and D.C.

  • Works in close coordination with managerial and team members in the prioritization of critical initiatives to continually provide value to Energy Services clients and associated stakeholders.
  • Develops, maintains, and works within a highly effective project management framework
  • Provides contract management support to Energy Services projects to include:
    • Establishment of appropriate communications and tracking systems based on project size, scope, team, budget and schedule;
    • flags potential concerns/deviations from project plan and/or to the project lead;
    • leads process for contract amendments, extensions, or other contract modifications;
    • serve as a key contact with internal and external clients as appropriate.
  • Leads operational initiatives as assigned by the Manager, Operations which may include development and leadership of implementation plans, identification of necessary resources, and communicating results.
  • Successfully balances scope, timelines, dependencies, budgets, and overall implementation plans of initiatives.
  • Partners and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to understand project objectives and to define key deliverables.
  • Initiates and develops planning activities to include implementation plan, resource identification, risk management, and communication plans.
  • Applies project management and change management best practices and standards to all projects.
  • Provides support to the activities of VEIC as necessary to accomplish organizational goals and objectives.


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
  • Undergraduate degree or a similar combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills were acquired.
  • At least four years of experience managing and coordinating programs or projects, including leading project teams or a combination of experience from which comparable skills were acquired.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • General knowledge of standard office computer applications, including word processing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to appropriately manage conflict.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and able to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with technical and non-technical managers and staff in a team effort.


Working Conditions:

Internal - Work is normally performed in climate-controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.).  No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.

External - No travel is required.
