What a day might look like:

You will oversee the marketing of corporate services and products in order to meet business goals—driving brand awareness and client engagement and retention across a wide-ranging portfolio. You will be responsible for developing, managing, implementing, executing strategic marketing plans for VEIC and its subsidiaries. You will work collaboratively with peers within the Communications team and across the organization to ensure effectiveness and coordination of messaging.


How you’ll do it:

  • Work with Communications leadership to develop a strategic approach to marketing for the initiatives and service offerings of VEIC and its subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate with business leaders within the organization to align marketing strategies and implementation with business goals, ensuring that client, customer, and community engagement is effective.
  • Work toward implementing established strategies and meeting business goals by developing marketing plans and integrated campaigns. Do so using multiple channels, such as advertising, digital content, direct mail, social media, public relations, events, and more.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of project managers, graphic designers, subject matter experts, and internal and external stakeholders responsible for contributing to campaigns. Use project management tools and practices that allow work to be completed on time and within budget.
  • Partner with associated Communications functions, including customer support, consumer insights, creative and digital services, public relations, and community engagement—to bring the full breadth of services to bear in support of VEIC and its subsidiaries.
  • Manage marketing sub-contractors as needed. This includes leading and implementing the competitive bid processes, writing scopes of work, supporting the execution of contracts, setting and managing to a budget, and supervising contractors.
  • Work with VEIC’s consumer insights team to initiate and scope research opportunities to sharpen understanding of markets and customers. Turn the findings into actionable insights and present them to Communications and Executive leadership.
  • Stay abreast of trends and best-practices in marketing and communications, and apply those learnings to your work. Teach and share knowledge with your colleagues.
  • Advocate internally for the role of marketing in order to leverage skills and knowledge across the organization.
  • Evaluate performance of marketing initiatives and drive continuous improvement based on results.

This job might be right for you if:

  • You have a strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
  • You have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with seven years of marketing experience (BtoB experience preferred), five years of project management experience, and three years of managing contracts and budgets.
  • You have knowledge or interest in the energy industry.
  • You have a strong understanding of integrated marketing through traditional and emerging marketing channels.
  • You have experience facilitating teams in a cross-functional environment—mobilizing organizational resources to accomplish shared goals.
  • You are an excellent communicator, with both written and verbal skills, in responding to requests for marketing support, defining project scopes, documenting work, reporting results, and managing the work of others.
  • You have excellent project management skills, proven time management abilities, and excellent attention to detail.
  • You are able to creatively problem solve and bring forth innovative ideas in solving marketing challenges.
  • You have an understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, data synthesis, and can communicate recommendations/implications.
  • You have a passion for performance. You understand marketing analytics and are able to make meaning out of metrics and customer research.
  • You enjoy juggling many projects and are able to prioritize competing tasks with poise and resiliency.
  • You are skilled in computer programs including word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and database software. You are able to learn new programs quickly.

  • Demonstrated experience managing, measuring, and optimizing marketing campaigns for multiple brands
